Who Is Pastor Jimmy Cox?

Pastor Jimmy Cox is a native to Hendersonville, North Carolina, who, over the years, has made an extraordinary impact in the region.

Pastor Cox graduated in the class of 1967 from Hendersonville High School. He is also a graduate of North Greenville University and University of North Carolina at Asheville.

He was licensed in 1968 by The Refuge Baptist Church of Dana, North Carolina and The Merrimon Avenue Baptist Church ordained him in 1970.

Pstr. Cox served as a pastor of The French Broad Baptist Church from 1970-1975, Mount Hebron Baptist Church in Hickory, N.C from 1975-1977, Naple Baptist Church in Naples, N.C. from 1977-1994, and West Lauderdale Baptist Church in Fort Lauderdale, Florida from 1994-2006. Pastor Jimmy Cox came to serve at The Open Door Christian Fellowship in 2007.

Jimmy has been involved in community affairs throughout his minstry and lifetime. While at Naples, he founded a mission in the country of Honduras in 1987, which is now known as the Christian Mission of Central Honduras. He served as the Southeast Cooridnator of the Fullness Institute from 1988-1994. Pastor Cox was also a Church Growth Consultant for the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina from 1984-1991.

While in Fort Lauderdale, Pastor Cox served as President of the Broward County Minsterial Association. He was a weekly contributor to the Trnity Boradcast Network with a program called Here's Hope. He received the key to the city of Fort Lauderdale in 1997. In 2000, Reverend Cox received the Light and Salt Award from Doctor D. James Kennedy and Reclaiming America.
